When purchasing jewelry you should make sure it is certified by a reputable store or company. Be sure that a certified appraisal from a jewelry store accompanies your purchase. If the store is part of the (JBT) jewelers board of trade and recognized by the better business bureau then that should allow you to give them a good amount of trust. A certified appraisal will include the companies seal, and can be used to insure your items. Certain items come with a diamond grading laboratory certificate. Some reputable companies who certify items are GIA, EGL, UGL, and AGS. All of the items purchased from Front Jewelers are accompanied by a store appraisal. Every engagement ring is also accompanied by a UGL certificate as well. These certificates are done by a separate company with a graduated GIA gemologist. They are in no way affiliated with the jewelry store selling the item, but they do grade the item so the store can sell it with the correct gradings.
